Massey Hall
KPMB's renovation of the historic venue improves accessibility, adds much needed amenity space for patrons, rehearsal space for performers, and meticulously restores the heritage features of the cherished performance hall.
The project takes great care to maintain the much loved character and acoustics of the venue, so that visitors might feel as if nothing has changed when arriving at, and while attending a concert or event in the space.
The main changes reveal themselves at intermission - new glass ‘Pasarelles’ flank the heritage brick facade, allowing patrons to circulate from their seats back to new bars and washroom facilities in the new tower addition at the south end of the site. The Pasarelles serve also as gathering spaces, providing patrons a spot to stand at intermission with views over the city below.
These images capture the project shortly after its re-opening in 2022.
