Point William

Realized over two decades, the collection of buildings on Point William are deeply rooted in the landscape of the Muskokas.

Between 2016-2019 I had the opportunity to visit on several occasions to document the projects over the course of the changing seasons.

These photographs, alongside images by Ed Burtynsky and James Dow, accompany texts by Kenneth Frampton and Michael Webb in a publication of the projects entitled “The Architecture of Point William, A Laboratory for Living” published by ORO Editions in 2021.

The projects encompass scales of design from the smallest details (door handles, hooks), to furniture & lighting, to the architectural scale of rooms and buildings, to the interconnecting landscape that stitches those buildings together.

The photography of this oeuvre attempts to capture a synthesis of these scales at specific moments in time.

The project has been widely published, including in: Domus, Wallpaper, Canadian Architect, Nuvo Magazine, among others.

The main cottage received a 2022 Governor General’s Award for Architecture.
