Churchill Meadows Community Centre

This landmark project for the City of Mississauga sits on the western edge of the suburban metropolis within an expansive new park. Conceived in concert with the surrounding landscape the project has become a neighbourhood gathering spot, offering sports and leisure spaces for both programmed and informal activities.

A simple rectangular mass is punctuated by seven north-facing skylights and cloaked in a fine mesh screen supported by a timber-structured curtain wall that filters light through the course of the day. At night the pavilion becomes a glowing lantern, attracting neighbours to come participate, socialize and enjoy their new world class facility.

These images were shot between fall 2021 and summer 2022.

The project has been featured in Architectural Record, and received a 2024 OAA Design Excellence Award.
