Florette

The design inspiration for this new Queen West restaurant takes us to a (partly) fictional world based on the history of the building in which it’s housed – a space which has been, over the decades: multi-generational housing, a karaoke bar, an art gallery, gay club and dive bar.

As if each past use had left little easter eggs in the space, the design of the restaurant blends these shared histories into a moody space that welcomes and comforts guests to enjoy good food and drink in good company.

The space was photographed in fall 2022 and has since been featured in Canadian Interiors, Hospitality Design Magazine, and was awarded a 2023 ARIDO award in the Eat / Stay category.
